SOUTHERN LIVING CALLS HENDERSON PARK INN “DESTIN'S BEST INN”
May 29, 2009

(Destin, Fla.) – Southern Living Magazine’s June issue features Destin’s Henderson Park Inn in the travel section. Journalist Farrah Austin visited the inn and her article is filled with vivid details about the breathtaking beauty of the inn, its property, and many amenities.

“The impact of this article has been overwhelming,” says Ryan Olin, Henderson Park Innkeeper. “As soon as the magazine hit mailboxes our phone began ringing and it hasn’t stopped.”

The article includes three color photographs, including one taken from the inn’s second floor corner suite that shows Destin’s famous white sand and emerald green water. Austin calls the view “the best view in Destin.” Other photographs include the inn taken from the water’s edge and guests getting ready for a bike ride on two of the inn’s complimentary bicycles.

Henderson Park Inn’s new owners recently renovated the inn, and updates include a new Presidential Suite with luxurious features including Mahogany crown molding, Baker furniture and towel warmers. As always, all guests are provided with a full breakfast buffet, but this season there’s more temptation for the taste buds with the addition of the BeachWalk Café. Popular chef Tim Creehan moved his restaurant to the inn this spring and offers guests and the public gourmet lunches and dinner.

Austin says Henderson Park Inn resembles a “coastal retreat in Maine more than a traditional Southern inn,” and Olin agrees. “We’re not what you’d expect here along the gulf coast, and that’s what makes staying here so desirable. There are plenty of high rise condominiums, but only one Henderson Park Inn.” The adult-only inn is small, cozy and private. Rooms feature large verandas or balconies, flat screen TVs, and ultra plush bedding. As Southern Living puts it, “Henderson Park Inn isn’t just the only B&B on the beach. It will be the only one in your dreams.”
